Since their formation in autumn 2002, RIOT BRIGADE have been devoting all their energy and effort to hardcore punk with a distinct oldschool feeling in the tradition of bands like 7 SECONDS, ANTI-FLAG, THE UNSEEN or even CRASS. They´ve released two great full length records („Here´s Our Answer“ 2005 / „Break Addiction“ 2007) and have toured all over Germany and some parts of Europe including support and headliner shows in squads as well as big venues.
At the end of 2009 they took a brake from playing liveshows and withdraw to develop their sound, music and lyrics. The result is their third and definitely best album ever. „Go On!“ is a milestone for the band‘s history and will become a real classic punk record very soon. That‘s for sure!
Musicwise you can clearly hear new influences. Compared to former releases the sound of „Go On!“ is much more melodic, mature, tight and they created a truly stirring musical adventure. No sing along you could get out of your ear.
But apart from the music the message has always been very important to RIOT BRIGADE. Besides the wide range of social-critical lyrics they also questioned themselves and their scene. „This record is the result of 7 years RIOT BRIGADE. To reach this point we had to lead many discussions, to reflect ourselves and sometimes to start from scratch again. ... They want us to keep our voices shut, but as long as people die because of rascist violence, as long as people are beaten by the police, as long as antisemitism is accepted by the middle of our society, as long as people, even in our scene use words like disabled, homosexual in a bad context, ... we´ll go on! togehter we´ll keep the fire burning“
